The Amazon Prime Video upcoming original movie titled, Ae Watan Mere Watan, is creating a buzz online ahead of its release date
The platform’s original movie starring Sara Ali Khan in the key role will soon be hitting on our screens.
For those who are unversed, let us tell you, the makers of the movie, ahead of the celebrations of 74th Republic Day, announce the movie’s release date as they share a clip of the movie.
The streaming platform, Amazon Prime Video, officially posted a clip of the film showcasing us glimpse of Sara Ali Khan as an Indian freedom fighter.

The footage showcased us the 27-year-old actress in a retro look donning a White Saree. Sara seemed to be pulling down the curtains before actually sitting down to assemble radio like device in a dark room.
After assembling the device, she seemed to be saying “Free voices cannot be held captivated, this is the voice of Hindustan, from somewhere in the country.”
In the very exact moment, a loud banging on the door can be heard. It appears that someone caught the air of what is happening inside the dark room and it can be predicted from Sara’s shocked face.
Star Cast
The upcoming freedom fighting movie, Ae Watan Mere Watan, will feature the actress Sara Ali Khan in the lead role.
Sara will be seen portraying the character of freedom fighter Usha Mehta. Though the makers haven’t announced the rest of the cast however, the actor Varun Dhawan is expected to play a crucial role.
Plot
If you’re wondering about the Plot of the movie, let us tell you, the story of the movie is inspired by our greatest freedom fighter, Usha Mehta, who is remembered for organizing secret underground radio station.
The story is said to be focused around the bravery, patriotism, and sacrifice of Usha from a very young age as she is dedicated towards the freedom struggle of India against British empire.
Touted to be an ode to the unsung freedom fighters, Ae Watan Mere Watan is inspired by true events and sees Sara Ali Khan as a college girl.
Makers
The story of the movie is written by Darab Farooqui along with Kannan. The veteran actor and filmmaker, Kannan Iyer, is helming the project. The film is being produced under the banners of Karan Johar’s Dharma Entertainment Production, Apoorva Mehta and Somen Mishra.
OTT Release Date
The streaming platform, Amazon Prime Video will have the post-theatrical rights and digital release rights of the movie as the film is being produced as the Amazon Originals project.
Though the makers of the movie have not announced any specific release date but the movie is expected to be released by mid 2023.
