The story begins with Ronan and Marya fighting. Ronan is taken aback by Marya’s strength. Despite her youth, Marya wields enormous influence. She’s also a dual-wielder. Ronan couldn’t see it, but he was certain she was fighting him with mana.
Marya was taken aback by Ronan’s power. She intended to finish him in one blow by demonstrating the power of mana and convincing him to abandon the test since she believed it would be preferable to humiliation in the testing area. Instead, she was the one who was pushed back.
Ronan takes advantage of Marya’s lapse into contemplation to defeat her. She tells Ronan that he is skilled with the sword even when he is not utilizing magic. When Ronan goes to see Marya the next day to collect the money she promised to give him if she lost, he discovers that she has planned something else for him.
