Shourya Saini added the frosting to India’s cake by winning bronze in the eight-man final, finishing behind Korea’s Kim Woo Rim. Dhanush won with a finals world record score of 247.5. Kim finished second with 246.6 and Shourya finished third with 224.3.

Deaflympics 2022 Performance:

Shourya had been properly trained for the flagship sports event for the hearing impaired by National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) instructors Anuja Jung and Priti Sharma. He shot brilliantly throughout the day to take home a worthy medal.

Shourya finished third with 622.7 points, ensuring that two Indians qualified for the final round. He finished third during the final, ensuring the team’s complete recovery from the competition.

In its 65-strong delegation to the Deaflympics in Brazil, India has sent 10 shooters. It is their largest and youngest squad yet, and they will compete in 11 sports.
