The severity of the injury will be determined by a scan but Finch himself warned that his past history of hamstring problems might spell trouble for Australia before their last Super 12s match against Afghanistan and the semi-final, assuming the team advances.
Finch on his Injury
According to cricket.com.au, Finch informed the host broadcaster that he feels a tiny hammy twinge. He has had a history with them, which is unfortunate, so they will see how it goes. Although it doesn’t feel too bad right now, they often tighten up overnight. They will obtain a scan and learn the complete findings.
Finch has declared himself a 70 per cent chance of playing in the do-or-die clash in Adelaide having suffered a hamstring injury.
Currently, Australia has been dealing with Injuries.
All-rounders Tim David and Marcus Stoinis had hamstring issues as well, and both of them were forced to leave the field on Monday night as Australia overcame Ireland by 42 runs with three substitute fielders. While Stoinis is eligible to participate, Finch is questionable for the Super12 matchup against Afghanistan. To maintain their chances of making the semifinals, Australia has to win this match.
Australia will decide whether Aaron Finch and Tim David will represent the defending champions in the crucial final T20 World Cup Super 12s game against Afghanistan. On Wednesday at Karen Rolton Oval, the two ran beside one other for around 20 minutes. Although neither appeared to be bothered, they didn’t push themselves over jogging speed.
If Finch is not available, Wade will lead Australia.
Wade has led Australia in six T20Is, most notably in a five-match series last year in Dhaka against Bangladesh. Additionally, he has extensive managerial experience, having managed the Hobart Hurricanes of the Big Bash League as well as his state teams Victoria and Tasmania (BBL).
