Divya Kakran reacts after Saurabh Bharadwaj questions Divya’s connection with Delhi

Indian wrestler Divya Kakran recently sparked controversy by claiming that, despite assurances, the Delhi government did not provide her with any help. Saurabh Bharadwaj, an Aam Aadmi Party legislator, attempted to refute the claims as the Delhi government came under fire over them. In response to Bharadwaj’s tweet from August 9th, Kakran supplied certificates demonstrating her representation of Delhi between 2011 and 2017.

Kakran responded by saying she served as the representative for Delhi from 2011 to 2017. She can also upload 17 certificates linked to Gold medals if there is any remaining doubt regarding her origin. She has won around 60 medals overall, including 17 gold medals at the Delhi State Championship, which is significant.

Reaction of AAP MLA Saurabh Bharadwaj to Divya Kakran’s Tweet

The wrestler Divya Kakran, who took home a bronze medal at the recently finished Commonwealth Games 2022, shared on Twitter on August 7th 2022 that the Delhi government had yet to award her any prize money. She tweeted this in response to Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister of Delhi, who had congratulated her.

Bharadwaj responded to Divya’s post by saying that he believed Divya has always represented Uttar Pradesh and attaching news items to back up his claim. Why Bharadwaj did not contact the Delhi Government’s sports department to inquire about Divya’s playing history and rely on media reporting is a mystery. However, the controversy seems to be over now as Bharadwaj admitted his lack of information and wished for the wrestler’s success.
