The Singapore Badminton Association is in charge of organizing this competition with BWF approval. In the mixed doubles event of 2022 Singapore Open, only participants from India are the mixed doubles duo of Nithin HV and Poorvisha Ram, Venkat Gaurav Prasad and Juhi Dewangan, who will play each other in the first round.

The Singapore Indoor Stadium will host the 2022 Singapore Open, a badminton tournament with a $370,000 prize pool, from July 12 through July 17. The venue for this international competition is the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

July 12- July 13: First-round matches will begin

14th July: Second-round matches will begin

July 15: Quarter-finals begin

16th July: Semi-finals begin

July 17: Finals begin

2022 Singapore Open Badminton Doubles Category First Round Draw, Fixtures, Players List

Krishnaprasad Garaga and Vishnuvardhan Goud Panjala are in the second round of the draw for men’s doubles. In the first round, they will take on Singapore’s unseeded Terry Hee and Loh Kean Hean. Meanwhile, the other Indian duo of Dhruv Kapila and MR Arjun, will face Jones Jansen and Jan Volker of Germany in the opening round. Lee Jhe-huei and Yang Po-hsuan of Chinese Taipei will be the opponents for Shyam Prasad and S Sunjith’s opening match in the main draw.

The Indian women’s doubles duo competing in this competition are Pooja Dandu and Arathi Sunil & Simran Singhi and Ritika Thaker. They are put in the exact same bracket. Singhi-Thaker will play second-seeded Jongkolphan Kititharakul and Rawinda Prajongjai in the opening round, while Dandu-Sunil duo will play a qualifier.

Points Award System

The BWF scoring system was used to allocate points for each round of the BWF World Tour Super 500 competition. Winners of the Doubles category competition receive 9,200 BWF points, while losers receive 7,800. The enormous number of points up for grabs will undoubtedly inspire competitors hoping to move up the BWF World Rankings.

Prize Money Pool Distribution

The total prize money for 2022 Singapore Open is US$370,000 when the awards are given out in accordance with BWF regulations. The winner of the doubles category will grab $29,230 meanwhile the runner-up duo will take home a total of $14,060.
