The ongoing Malaysia Masters 2022 saw Indian shuttler HS Prannoy easily advance to the quarterfinals on Thursday. Wang Tzu-Wei of Taiwan was upset by Prannoy on Court 3 in a 44-minute encounter by scores of 21-19, 21-16.

2022 Malaysia Masters Badminton Men’s Singles Second Round Results, Score, Winners, Fixtures, Players List
Momota Kento was speechless as he lost to his fellow countryman Tsuneyama Kanta in round two of the 2022 Malaysia Masters, only four days after losing the Malaysia Open final to Olympic champion Viktor Axelsen. The Japanese badminton superstar was not at his peak. The two-time world champion was defeated by the unseeded Tsuneyama on Thursday in 49 minutes.
Ginting, the sixth-seeded player in the men’s singles competition, defeated Parupalli Kashyap 21-10, 21-15 to go to a match against Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo, who overcame Thailand’s Kantaphon Wangcharoen 18-21, 21-11, 21-9. Meanwhile, Li Shifeng of China defeated B Sai Praneeth in the men’s singles Round of 16 match, which lasted 42 minutes as B Sai Praneeth was eliminated from the competition.

Points Award System
The BWF scoring system was used to allocate points for each round of the BWF World Tour Super 500 competition. Winners of the Men’s Singles competition receive 9,200 BWF points, while losers receive 7,800. The enormous number of points up for grabs will undoubtedly inspire competitors hoping to move up the BWF World Rankings.

Prize Money Pool Distribution
The 2022 Malaysia Masters will distribute a total of US$360,000 in prizes after they are paid out in accordance with BWF regulations. In addition, the winner of the singles category will get $27,000 in rewards as opposed to the runner-up player’s $13,680.
