In the opening round of Malaysia Masters, world No. 2 Japanese women’s doubles team of Yuki Fukushima and Sayaka Hirota defeated Indian duo Ashwini Bhat and Shikha Gautam 21-7, 21-10. Meanwhile, Pooja Dandu and Arathi Sunil lost to eighth-seeded Gabriela Stoeva and Stefani Stoeva 21-17, 21-17 after being promoted to the main event.

The Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, will host the 2022 Malaysia Masters, a badminton competition with a US$360,000 total prize pool, from July 5 to July 10, 2022. The doubles competition will be very exciting for Indian badminton fans, as the country’s shuttlers will be looking to avenge recent defeats.

2022 Malaysia Masters Badminton Doubles Category First Round Results Today, Fixtures, Players List

Gayatri Gopichand and Treesa Jolly, a women’s doubles team from India, were eliminated from the Malaysia Masters 2022 badminton competition after losing in the opening round on Tuesday in Kuala Lumpur. The All England Open semifinalists were defeated 21-14, 21-14 in 33 minutes at the Axiata Arena while competing against Malaysians Pearly Tan and Thinaah Muralitharan.

Against the Malaysians ranked No. 10 in the world, Gayatri Gopichand and Treesa Jolly, both 19 years old, started off strong. Gayatri Gopichand and Treesa Jolly were overcome, though, after sprinting to a 3-0 lead in the first game. To advance to the next round of the BWF Super 500 badminton championship, Pearly Tan and Thinaah Muralitharan maintained control of the match.

Points Award System

The BWF World Tour Super 500 competition used the BWF scoring system to determine how many points should be awarded for each round. All competition winners receive 9,200 BWF points, while the runners-up receive 7,800 BWF points. Competitors wishing to advance in the BWF World Rankings will definitely be motivated by the massive number of points up for grabs.

Prize Money Pool Distribution
