The 2022 World Athletics Championships will be place at Hayward Field in Eugene from July 15 to July 24. The world track and field championships will be staged at the occasion, known as Oregon22, for the first time ever in the United States. In Eugene, 2,000 athletes representing almost 200 nations will compete.

2022 World Athletics Championships Schedule, Date, Time, Venue, And Other Details

The 2022 World Athletics Championships, the eighteenth iteration of the World Athletics Championships, will take place in Eugene, Oregon, in the United States, from July 15–24, 2022. The finals will be hosted at Eugene, Oregon’s recently renovated University of Oregon Hayward Field, which has 30,000 seats.

The competitions will take place at Eugene, Oregon’s recently renovated University of Oregon Hayward Field, which can accommodate 30,000 spectators and has previously played host to the 2020 United States Track and Field Olympic Trials and the 2021 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

The Men’s Javelin Throw competition will be the major event of the competition and is set to start on July 21. On July 21, Group A athletes will take the field at 5:05 PM PST, and Group B athletes will compete at 6:45 PM. The Javelin Throw championship will follow at 6:35 PM PST on July 23.

2022 World Athletics Championships Indian Contingent and Events List

Anju Bobby George’s bronze medal in the women’s long jump at the 2003 World Athletics Championships in Paris is India’s only medal in the event going into the 2022 World Athletics Championships, which will be hosted in Eugene, Oregon, USA from July 15 to July 24. However, there will be great hopes for a second medal and possibly more at the World Athletics Championships in Oregon22. The Indian team at the world championships will feature a reigning Olympic champion for the first time in history. Neeraj Chopra, a javelin thrower who made history by earning a gold medal at the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics, India’s first athletics medal ever, will lead the Indian charge at Eugene.

At the 2019 worlds, 23 athletes from India participated. India has picked a 22-person team to compete at the 2022 World Athletics Championships. Below we take a look at the list of Indian athletes set to participate at the World Championships along with their designated event.

2022 World Athletics Championships Prize Money And Where to Watch: Live Stream & TV Telecast?

The championships’ television rights in the US are held by NBC Sports. The official global broadcasting partners for the tournament will be made public as soon as feasible.

Athletes who placed in the top eight in their respective sports at the most recent World Championships in Doha in 2019 received a combined total of $75,30,000 (Rs. 55.83 crore) in prize money, and an additional $2 million has been added to this pool for the 2022 competition. The 44 individual events at each World Championship will each get an additional $23,000 (Rs. 17.05 lakh) in prize money, for a total of an additional $1 million (Rs. 7.41 crore) across the following two years.
