Despite yet another tussle at the top of Khelo India Youth Games medal tally, hosts Haryana maintained the lead against defending champions Maharashtra. At the end of day six, Maharashtra have won 77 medals including 29 gold medals, which is just one gold medal lower than Haryana in first place.

2022 Khelo India Youth Games Schedule, Venue, Participating Teams, And Day 6 Winners
Sudeshna Shivankar dominated from start to finish, winning the Girls 200m gold in a time of 24.29 seconds, comfortably ahead of state mate Avantika Narale, who completed a hat-trick of sprint wins. She had already won two gold medals, the first in the Girls 100m and the second in the 4x100m relay, demonstrating her dominance.
Aryan Kadam won the Boy’s 200m in 21.82 seconds, while the 4x400m relay team of Riya Patil, Pranjali Patil, Vaishnavi Kature, and Shiveccha Patil flew to victory. They won by more than 50 metres over second-placed Punjab, clocking 4:02.76. Arjun Waskale of Madhya Pradesh achieved a double by winning the Boys 3000m in 8:37.62 after winning the 1500m on the first day of the tournament.
Meanwhile, Punjab has lined up a showdown with Uttar Pradesh in the Boy’s hockey final. In the first semifinal, Punjab defeated Jharkhand 3-0, while Uttar Pradesh defeated Odisha 3-2 in a tough match.

Maharashtra restored their dominance in athletics on Thursday, winning three of the four sprint titles to widen the field for the Khelo India Youth Games championship. After the morning session, Maharashtra’s amazing collection of eight gold, three silver, and a bronze medal in track and field has closed the gap at the top of the standings, with their 29 gold only one short of Haryana’s 30.
