World’s Strongest Man Day 1 Recap and Playing Field
With a strong start to his title defence, Tom Stoltman is living up to his expectations. He was the first guy to complete the Loading Race in under 40 seconds, and his awareness matched his speed and strength on the field of play. Stoltman’s winning time in the Deadlift Ladder mirrored that effort. He checked whatever anxieties he had about defending his WSM title at the door. It’s difficult to see how he doesn’t come out on top in Group 1.
Novikov is set to make up for missing the WSM Final in 2021 by winning the Loading Race with the fastest time in the competition. He finished Day One with a perfect score in the Deadlift Ladder. Meanwhile, Bishop is taking advantage of his opponent’s mistakes and has a three-point lead in second place of Group 3 thanks to his solid play. He appears to be in good shape on the competition floor, and if he keeps it up in the heavier events on Day Two, he might reduce the gap on Novikov.

The old-school Car Walk was the third event of the 2022 World’s Strongest Man. The contestants were required to pick up and carry the car for a distance of 20 metres. The car weighed about 950 pounds (430 kilogrammes), and the event had a 60-second time limit. The goal, though, was to complete it as rapidly as possible.
In the Car Walk Event of Day 2 WSM, the Stoltman siblings again dominated as reigning champion Tom finished the event with maximum points while Luke finished second in their respective groups.
Later in the Log Lift event, the Stoltman siblings again dominated as both of them scored maximum points in their respective groups. After the culmination of second day at 2022 World’s Strongest Man, Tom Stoltman is leading Group 1 with 24 points out of possible 24, while his brother Luke Stoltman is leading Group 3 with 23 points.
