Amir Khan, the former world boxing champion, claims he was robbed at gunpoint while out with his wife in Leyton, east London. The 35-year-old said on Twitter on Monday that two men had a “gun pointed in my face” while they snatched his watch.
“The main thing is we’re both safe,” said the 2008 Olympic silver medalist, who was with his wife Faryal at the time. After being alerted to an incident on High Road in Leyton at 21:15 BST on Monday, the Metropolitan Police stated they were investigating.
