The World Championship in 2022 is planned to begin on 16th April, but the vital qualifying took place first. The World Championship will be contested in Sheffield, United Kingdom, for the 46th year in a row, and it will be the 16th and final ranking event of the 2021–22 snooker season.

The Snooker World Championship begins on April 16, 2022, and concludes on May 2, 2022. However, the 2022 Snooker World Championship Qualifiers were held at the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield from April 4 to 13.
Qualifiers Tournament Format And Rules
A week before the competition, the English Institute of Sport organized a qualifying tournament for 128 players. That group was reduced to only 16 players over the course of a week, with the victors joining the top 16 players in the snooker rankings in the first round draw of main tournament.
Qualifying matches were best-of-11 frames in the first, second, and third preliminary rounds, and best-of-19 frames in the fourth and final preliminary round. According to their rankings, the players entered the qualifiers at different stages.

In the fourth round of World Snooker Championship Qualifiers, Vafaei gained a 4–1 lead over Lei Peifan, but the Chinese player came back to tie the game at 5–5, forcing the match to a deciding session. Vafaei, on the other hand, cleared the final black to win 10–9 and earn his Crucible debut, as well as becoming the first Iranian player to reach the final stages of a World Championship.
Page also earned his maiden trip to the Crucible, defeating Grace 10–6 with breaks of 104 and 116, while Gilbert overcame Hamilton 10–3 in a one-sided match. Stevens fell behind Carter in the first four frames, but won six of the next seven to take a 6–5 lead. Carter then won three straight sets to take an 8–6 lead, but Stevens won the final four frames to take the match with a score of 10-8 in his favor.
