Indian Men’s Hockey Team has had a superb FIH Pro League 2022 campaign so far and lead the league currently, we look at the results and points table of the tournament along with the upcoming schedule
The third edition of Men’s FIH Pro League, a field hockey competition for men’s national teams, started from 16th October 2021. The tournament will run till 30th June 2022, and it will feature 9 teams from 4 confederations.
Participating Teams In The FIH Men’s Pro Hockey League
Originally, a round-robin competition with nine teams was slated to take place from October 2021 to June 2022. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the travel restrictions, both New Zealand and Australia withdrew on September 17, 2021. On December 8, 2021, Canada and South Africa became members.
Six weeks after being chosen New Zealand’s replacement, Canada withdrew on January 17, 2022, due to the COVID-19 Omicron variant. On 25th January 2022, France was named as Canada’s replacement.

Format And Rules
The 9 teams are scheduled to play in a round-robin format in home and away format. After each team have played a total of 16 matches, the top team at the table will be announced as the champion.
From 2021-22 season, the bottom team after the season will face relegation and FIH Nations Cup winner will replace that team.

FIH Pro League Men’s Hockey Results And Score
So far, FIH Pro League 2021-22 season has featured thirty-two matches. In the inaugural match, Belgium thrashed Germany with a score of 6-1. In the next match, Belgium again defeated Germany by 5-3 margin.
Indian Hockey team extended their amazing form after 2020 Bronze Winning Olympics campaign to the 2022 FIH Pro Hockey League. India currently sit at the top of the league table with six wins and twenty one points after ten games. Indian men’s team currently hold four points lead over second-placed Germany.
In the most recent match of 2022 Men’s FIH Pro League, drag flicker Harmanpreet Singh’s hat-trick earned the Indian men’s hockey team a 4-3 triumph over England in the second leg of their FIH Pro League contest.

The next match in FIH Pro League will take place between India and Germany. India will resume its campaign on 14th April with the match. India will again take on Germany on 15th April before facing Belgium on 11th June 2022.
