The 2022 Korea Open will be the eighth tournament on the BWF World Tour, and it will be hosted in conjunction with the Korea Open championships, which have been held since 1991. The Badminton Korea Association is hosting this competition, which is sanctioned by the BWF.

PV Sindhu is the third seed at the 2022 Korea Open after winning the Swiss Open. In the first round, she will face Lauren Lam of the United States, who is an unseeded player. Busanan Ongbamrungphan is the only other seeded player in this section.
