The 2022 Players Championship (officially the 2022 Cazoo Players Championship) is a professional snooker competition held at Aldersley Leisure Village in Wolverhampton, England, from February 7 to 13, 2022. It’s the tenth ranking event of the 2021–22 season, and the second of the Cazoo Cup, coming after the World Grand Prix and before the Tour Championship. On the one-year ranking list, it features the top 16 ranked players.
Zhao Xintong and Hossein Vafaei made their tournament debuts, with Zhao seeded first after winning the UK Championship in 2021 and the German Masters in 2022. In the first round, both debutants lost, with Barry Hawkins defeating Zhao 6–3 and John Higgins defeating Vafaei by the same margin.

In the semi finals match of the Players Championship Semi Finals, Barry Hawkins took on Ricky Walden, only to defeat him 6-2. In the second semi finals match, Neil Robertson had gone head to head against Jimmy Robertson and defeated him 6-1. Both players showed impeccable composure and have now moved to the finals, where they will compete for the title and a prize of 125,000 Euros.
Higgins was the reigning champion, having won the 2021 final 10–3 over Ronnie O’Sullivan. In the quarter-finals, though, Higgins was defeated 4–6 by Jimmy Robertson. Hawkins defeated Ricky Walden 6–2 in the semi-finals to reach his eighth ranking final of his career, chasing his first ranking victory since the 2017 World Grand Prix. Neil Robertson, the runner-up in 2012, 2013, and 2019, plays Jimmy Robertson, who he defeated 6–1 in the semi-finals.
