Yaron Lischinsky was a young Israeli Embassy staff member who was tragically shot and killed alongside his partner, Sarah Milgrim, outside the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C.
The tragic incident took place on Wednesday night as the couple were just leaving a diplomatic event promoting Jewish unity and heritage.

Yaron Lischinsky bio and age
Yaron Lischinsky who was a Messianic Jew was an Israeli Embassy staff who was 38-years-old at the time of his death. Lischinsky was born in Germany and grew up in Israel after moving there at the age of 16. Owing to his upbringing, he seemingly embraced both Jerusalem and Nuremberg as his two homes. Sadly, Lischinsky was reportedly just days away from proposing to his girlfriend Milgrim during a planned trip to Jerusalem.

During the time of his death, Yaron Lischinsky worked as a research assistant at the Israeli Embassy in Washington, D.C. His main responsibilities included monitoring political developments across the Middle East and North Africa under the embassy’s political department. He had previously, worked in youth diplomacy and also served in the Israeli military. Lischinsky was also notably a founding member of the youth forum of the Israeli-German Society. Besides his professional pursuits, he was also a passionate photographer. On his LinkedIn profile, Yaron described himself as an “ardent believer” in advancing Israel-Arab relations through the Abraham Accords.

Following his tragic death, Ron Prosor, who is a veteran Israeli diplomat, described Lischinsky as a Christian who deeply loved Israel. The German-Israeli Society also praised his work and bilingual fluency and noted his dedication towards strengthening bilateral relations. Many colleagues and friends have come forward and called his death a devastating loss, with a fellow diplomat stating:

Yaron Lischinsky had an Instagram account set to private under the handle @yaron.li, where he had about 418 followers and about 134 posts. In his bio, he had a yellow ribbon in solidarity with the hostages that Hamas took during its Oct. 7, 2023, attack on Israel.
