Over the course of the last day, Sharmishta Panoli of Anandpur, Kolkata has been trending on Twitter/X and Instagram. While she initially went viral owing to her comments on the Khans of Bollywood who she went on a tirade against for not speaking in support on India amidst their feud with Pakistan, a string of cyber complaints have now been filed against her after a video of her vitriol directed at Prophet Muhammad surfaced.

Replying to a question on Instagram, Sharmishta who is a fourth year law student at Symbiosis Law School in Pune who works at Adab Singh and Kapoor Associates went onto talk about how she felt Prophet Muhammad was delusional who believed in getting 72 virgins in heaven, going onto add how he had really been to a wh*rehouse according to her.

Her comments have been viewed as an attack on the religious sentiments on Muslims and also an attempt to spread poison in the society.
Meanwhile, Akhil Marar, a Malayalam television personality, filmmaker, and social media influencer, has been charged by Kerala Police with making anti-national statements in a social media video.

The complaint against Akhil Marar has been filed under Section 152 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which is non-bailable, according to an officer at the Kottarakkara police station on Wednesday, May 14, 2025. Acts that jeopardize India’s integrity, unity, or sovereignty are included under Section 152.

Anish Kizhakkekkara, a local BJP leader in Kottarakkara, Kollam, filed the complaint against Akhil Marar. He claimed in his complaint that remarks made in Mr. Marar’s video, which was shared online, were critical to the country.
The cops claimed to be looking into the situation. They noted that since the footage has been erased, it needs to be restored before any further action can be taken.
In his video and posts, Akhil Marar was seen criticising India’s PM Narendra Modi and India’s action towards Pakistan during the conflict. His video has been shared by hundreds of netizens. Marar highlighted that Indian authorities were not able to detain even a single individual involved in the Pahalgam terror attack. He also mentioned that India has killed innocent Pakistani civilians.

Who is Akhil Marar?
Akhil Marar is a screenwriter and filmmaker. He directs South Indian films and writes screenplays for them. His role in the movie Oru Thathvika Avalokanam is what made him most famous. This film starred Abhirami, Aju Varghese, and Joju George. Under the guidance of Yohanan Productions, Geevarghees Yohanan produced the movie, which was written by the director.
Director Akhil gained notoriety on March 26, 2023, when he participated in the Bigg Boss Malayalam Season 2023 competition.
Akhil started working as a salesman for a medical company after earning his bachelor’s degree. Later on, he was employed by another medical company as an area manager.
