She won the title of Miss France 2014. Coquerel was the first woman from the Centre-Val de Loire area to win Miss France after winning Miss Orleanais in 2013. She placed in the Top 5 at Miss Universe 2015 and represented France at Miss World 2014.
Coquerel was born to Frederic and Sephi Coquerel in Mont-Saint-Aignan, Normandy. Her Beninese mother Sephi was employed at Ecoles Maternelles as a member of the French Civil Service, while her French father Frederic owned a business. With an older brother and half-sister, Coquerel is the youngest of three children. Her siblings are Abiba Ousmane and Cédric Coquerel.
Before relocating to the neighbouring town of Morancez, Coquerel spent her early years in the town of Luce in the Eure-et-Loir department, which is part of the Chartres region. Coquerel was pursuing a brevet de technicien supérieur (BTS) diploma in international commerce prior to her reign as Miss France, and she eventually earned her diploma in June 2015.
Coquerel received a nomination to represent France at Miss World 2014, which was held on December 14, 2014, in London, England. She placed in the top 20 at Miss Top Model and the top 25 in “The People’s Choice” at Miss World 2014, and she had the highest interview score.
Coquerel was placed among the top five contestants at the 2015 Miss Universe competition in Las Vegas. Prior to Iris Mittenaere’s victory as Miss Universe 2016, this was only the second time a French woman had placed in the Top 5 delegates of the Miss Universe competition; the first was Christiane Martel’s 1953 victory.
