Amidst his success, his parents, Jared and Kristy, have reportedly played monumental roles in supporting him and his F1 ambitions.
Liam Lawson parents
Liam Lawson was born on February 11, 2002, in Hastings, New Zealand, to parents, Jared and Kristy Lawson. Both his parents are New Zealand nationals and have invested nearly US$7 million to help their son achieve his Formula 1 dream. Owing to his passion and parent’s support, Liam signed a multi-layer driver contract with Red Bull when he turned 17.
Father
Jared Lawson is the father of Liam Lawson, who has played a key role in igniting his passion for driving. Jared introduced his son to karting from an early age and served as his coach from the very beginning. When Liam was just a child, Jared often took Liam out to the park in his sister’s little VW Polo and taught him practice starts. He taught his son valuable racing techniques like dropping the clutch at an early age.

Meanwhile, Liam’s mother, Kristy Lawson, has always provided unwavering support towards her son’s career from the beginning of his career. Kristy Lawson is a housewife and loves to spend her time gardening, but most importantly, she always has her focus on her son’s career.

Liam Lawson bio and racing career
Liam started out his teenage years achieving notable triumphs in domestic and global competitions. He competed in several prestigious championships like the FIA Formula 4 Championship, Toyota Racing Series, as well as the Euroformula Open. He managed to consistently secure numerous podium finishes and eventually joined the Red Bull Junior Team.
After progressing to the FIA Formula 3 Championship, he also ventured into DTM. During the 2023 Super Formula Championship, Liam Lawson showcased his skills while representing Team Mugen. The Kiwi driver is currently in the reserve driver role for both Red Bull Racing and Scuderia AlphaTauri F1 teams. Despite all these achievements, the youngster is very focused on his improvement and progress. The 22-year-old is focused on building his laps and always has a strategy cooked up, showcasing his commitment towards improvement.
Liam Lawson‘s estimated net worth was said to be around $1.5 million, however, when his net worth was brought up in an interview, he stated he’s not worth anything, “Literally, I haven’t earned any money in my whole career,” he said, via The Mirror. “The only money I’ve ever made is from Twitch so I have a net worth of zero.”
As a reserve driver in F1, he is said to make between $100,000-1 million per season.
