Women’s Hockey India League (HIL) 2024-25 schedule, date, teams list, auction squad players list, owners and venue
The upcoming 2024-25 season is all set to feature four teams in the women’s league, including Delhi SG Pipers, Odisha Warriors, Shrachi Rarh Bengal Tigers, and Soorma Hockey Club (Haryana).
The new season of the league will be held from 28 December 2024 to 1 February 2025 and the teams are placed in a group to play round-robin matches. The top four teams qualify for the knockout stages and the league matches will be played at two venues, the Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh Astroturf Hockey Stadium in Ranchi, Jharkhand and Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium in Rourkela, Odisha.
The women’s league final is scheduled for January 26 in Ranchi and the men’s final will be played on February 1 in Rourkela but the full schedule is yet to be revealed.
Ahead of the start of the event, the Hockey India League women’s auction took place in New Delhi on Tuesday. The auction featured several intense bidding wars between franchises for both junior as well as senior players.
