The upcoming event is set to take place on Sunday, August 11 or Monday, August 12, in India. It will take place from 9 pm to 11:15 pm local time, which corresponds to 11pm to 1:15 am GST, and 12:30 am to 2:45 am IST.

The closing ceremony event will take place at the Stade de France, France’s national stadium. The organizers have transformed the stadium into a massive concert hall for the upcoming ceremony.

This year’s closing ceremony, titled ‘Records’ will be a spectacular show. Thomas Jolly, who was the artistic director behind the epic opening ceremony will direct it as well. Viewers can expect to see over 100 performers, including acrobats, dancers, and circus artists, along with an original soundtrack.
Viewers can also expect to see various musical performances by world-renowned artists. Just like the opening ceremony, a part of the show will take place in the air. Notably, the ceremony’s bespoke sets, and costumes, and enchanting light effects will take viewers on “a journey through time, both past and future.”
Notably, this year’s closing ceremony is also set to feature traditional moments. These includes the flags of participating nations, the athletes’ parade, as well as the handover of the Olympic flag to the Los Angeles 2028 Organising Committee.

According to rumors, Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise is set to make an appearance at the closing ceremony. The 62-year-old star, who is renowned for performing all kinds of daring stunts will seemingly perform the handing over of the flag. According to the reports, Tom Cruise will aim to rappel 42 meters from the roof of the Stade de France during the ceremony.
Following the act, the event will play pre-recorded footage of Tom Cruise roaming through the famous streets of Paris on a motorbike along with a large Olympic flag. The footage will then show Cruise jumping out of the plane Cruise-style, and skydive to the Hollywood sign. He will perform all this while holding the Olympic flag that will pass on to athletes around LA.
Other rumoured performers include Snoop Dogg and global megastar Taylor Swift but nothing has been officially confirmed yet.
