Following two strokes, at the age of just 36 years old CJ de Silva-Ong unexpectedly passed away on June 18 at 10:45 a.m. De Silva was dubbed the Promil Gifted Child. Her passing was confirmed by her husband.

CJ de Silva-Ong passed away after suffering an aneurysm and two strokes.
CJ de Silva grew up in Malabon, a town north of the capital, after being born and raised in Manila. She was born on 1 August 1987. he attended St. Scholastica’s College Manil before earning a degree in Visual Communication with honours from the University of the Philippines Diliman’s College of Fine Arts in 2008.
Wincy Ong who is a writer and De Silva’s spouse, posted the news of her passing on his Facebook page. Since her aneurysm on June 5, he has been keeping her condition updated. He wrote, “She fought to the very end. She was a loving wife to me, a loving cat-mom to our cats Andres and Max, and a loving daughter to her parents and uncle.” Silva and Wincy got married in 2013. Details about her other family members remain unknown.
Known as one of the young people in the 1990s Promil advertisements, CJ de Silva began her career as a visual artist by taking part in solo and group exhibitions at venues like as The Collective, Whitespace Gallery, and The Ayala Museum.
She worked as the executive creative director at TBWA SMP and co-hosted the podcast Telebabad Tapes with Wincy.
Ang Ikaklit Sa Aming Hardin, which won the Palanca Award, Eugene Evasco’s Gumagapang, Lumulukso, Lumilipad: Bugtong Sa Mga Kulisap, the late Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago’s Stupid Is Forever, and the album cover for Itchyworm’s After All This Time are a few of her notable works.
She has contributed to commercials for Dolfenal’s Love TVC, Nissan’s The Leaf Orchestra, and Manikako’s A Toy Love Story That Will Make You Cry, which was the first Japanese Webby Award winner.
