The video of Harsh Raj being beaten to death inside the Patna Law College campus has gone viral
Social media platform X is currently buzzing with a viral video of masked men who seemed to be beating a student brutally. After the video went viral, netizens called for action to be taken against these people.
For the unversed, a day after a 22-year-old student was beaten to death by masked men on a Patna college campus, police have arrested the main suspect, uncovering that an altercation over a dandiya night event last year led to the fatal attack.

Identity of the Victim
Harsh Raj, a third-year Vocational English student at BN College, was at Sultanganj Law College for an exam when masked men armed with sticks assaulted him, leaving him critically injured.
Despite being rushed to a hospital by the police, he succumbed to his injuries. City SP (East) Bharat Soni informed the media, “A heinous crime occurred on the law college campus yesterday.
What Did Police Say?
“Anti-social elements beat up Harsh Raj so severely that he later died. We formed a Special Investigation Team and have arrested the main accused, Chandan Yadav, a final-year student of Patna College, who has confessed to the crime. We are working to apprehend the other suspects.”
The police revealed that the attack stemmed from a confrontation at a dandiya event during last year’s Dussehra festival.
“The altercation between two groups led to ongoing tensions, culminating in this premeditated attack. This case falls clearly under Section 302 (murder),” the senior officer stated.
The officer added that the Dussehra night dispute had been followed by several heated exchanges, with the accused admitting that his ego was hurt.
About Chandan Yadav
As per media claims, Chandan is a student at Patna University and lives in Jackson Hostel. He was arrested in Bihta. Chandan is a resident of Amhara in Bihta.
Chandan mentioned that he got into a fight with Harsh over a dispute that occurred during the Dandiya Night event.
He also named 8 other boys who were involved in the incident. The police are conducting raids in Supaul, Saharsa, Begusarai, and Nalanda to arrest them.

What Did the Video Shows?
Chilling campus footage shows the attackers repeatedly striking the victim with sticks. A police case has been filed, and officers are reviewing CCTV footage to identify the other assailants.
Bihar minister Ashok Choudhary posted a photo of himself with Harsh, condemning the attack. “No amount of criticism is enough. I am in touch with authorities regarding this incident, and those guilty will be arrested soon,” the JDU leader assured, expressing the government’s support for the victim’s family.
The Opposition leaders also criticized the Nitish Kumar-led BJP-JDU government for the incident. RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav said, “This is very unfortunate. The law and order situation has worsened since the NDA government took over.”
