First responders reported an increase in fighting in Rafah, a southern Gaza city that was long thought to be the final refuge for Palestinians, on Tuesday. Recent Israeli bombs on the city had killed at least sixteen Palestinians, the source further added.

When the Israelis began their incursion into Rafah in early May, about a million Palestinians left the city; the majority of them had already been uprooted by the battle between Israel and Hamas. Right now, they seek safety in places where there has been a huge amount of violence, such filthy tent camps.

The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) announced earlier on Monday that an Israeli aircraft killed the chief of staff for Hamas Yassin Rabia in the West Bank, last week in the southern Gazan city of Rafah. 

An IDF statement said that the strike was carried out in the Tal as Sultan area of northwest Rafah based on precise intelligence. 

Israel’s military incursion into the Gaza Strip has resulted in the deaths of over 33,000 Palestinians since October 7, 13,800 of them were children as per the reports.
