Who is Brian Pullman?
Brian Pullman is the legendary man behind Chelsea’s media team at Cobham who has now announced his retirement following the season’s conclusion. The 86-year-old has worked for the Blues since 1968.
After almost 56 years of service to the club he has supported since he was a boy, today is the Brian Pullman’s final game as Chelsea press steward.
Brian went to his first Chelsea game as a schoolboy in 1948 and began working as a steward for the Blues 20 years later and first reported for duty on 14 August 1968 for a 1-1 draw against Nottingham Forest.
It wasn’t long until Brian moved into the role, welcoming media to the press room for over half a century.
The iconic man has seen around 30 managers come and go, while he stayed with the side. He has spent his 56 years serving the club as its part-time employee.
Chelsea fans on social media were quick enough to join the farewell. In a farewell video posted by Sky Sports with the caption “A touching farewell from Chelsea at the start of today’s press conference to the retiring Brian Pullman, who’s worked for the Blues since 1968,” a fan commented, “That’s what a Legend looks like.”
Another user commented, “Brian Pullman needs a Banner at the Bridge. Absolute legend.” Another stated, “Wow… That’s a long service. Very touching indeed.” One of many comments wished him “well in his retirement.”
Meanwhile, it seems like Pochettino is also not going to stay at the club. Kieran McKenna is one of the front-runners to replace Pochettino, whose future is up in the air pending his end-of-season assessment, Chelsea claims, a report in Metro.co.uk stated.
If Chelsea defeats Bournemouth on Sunday, they could unexpectedly make their way back to Europe after spending most of the season floundering in the middle of the table.
