The Bengaluru Police detained a young fan identified as Instagram content creator Nitin Sequeira who had announced on social media his intention to invade the pitch during the ongoing Indian Premier League match between the Royal Challengers Bengaluru and the Chennai Super Kings at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

Long before the match began, a fan disclosed his foolproof plan on social media to jump the fence from a particular stand that lacked spiked barriers.

Although he didn’t specify which stand it was, the police detained him well before the game. Nitin Sequeira, a content creator from Bengaluru, uploaded a video of the incident.


For the unfamiliar, Nitin uploaded the video on his Instagram handle which goes by the name of @nitinzequeira, wherein he enjoys 108K followers. The social media personality posted the video a week ago making the platform go frenzy.

As per his Instagram bio, Nitin is the co-founder of ‘Wear Clout Chasers,’ a YouTube and Instagram page where a ‘group of friends make videos together.’

According to his official LinkedIn, Nitin is a video marketing specialist. He completed his degree in Mechanical engineering in 2022 from the Presidency University Bangalore. He currently works as a freelance video editor and product animator.

What Did Nitin Sequeira Say?

In a now-viral Instagram video, he shared, “I found two stands without any barricades. After making numerous calls and networking, I finally secured access to one of them. That’s how it’s going down. On May 18th, RCB vs CSK. See you there.”

Since its uploading, the video has garnered over seven million views and two lakh likes on the platform.

The Bengaluru Police had a witty response in a video uploaded to their official handle on X, saying, “Nice try, Buddy! But attempting to breach security during IPL is a guaranteed six straight into our custody. Sorry, mate, you’re stumped!”

The video featured a picture of Nitin, though his face was blurred out. Regarding the match, the play was briefly interrupted by rain after the third over of the first innings.
