Who is Erin Jones as University of Arizona student is shot dead in Tucson, bio, age and obituary

Erin Jones who was a 20-year-old student at the University of Arizona was killed in a shooting incident.

The police quickly arrived on the scene and found Erin Jones outside the residence with apparent signs of a gunshot wound. They immediately began administering first aid until the Tucson Fire Department arrived.

The University wrote on its website, “Wildcat community suffered a tragic loss early this morning with the off-campus death of sophomore Erin Jones.”

20 year old Erin Jones was pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business and Administration at the University of Arizona. She was shot dead on Sunday during a midtown house party outside a residence in a shooting which involved four people being shot at. Erin was the only victim though.

Jones was a sophomore and went to high school in Southern California.

Firefighters took Erin Jones to the Banner University Medical Center, but unfortunately, she later died.

As per the police, another female victim was found in a vehicle nearby and was taken to St. Louis for her injuries. In addition, two other people, a teenage girl and a man, ended up in their vehicles at Banner University Medical Center and the Tucson Emergency Department and Hospital. They were treated for gunshot wounds that were not considered life-threatening.

UA President Robert C. Robbins offered his condolences and said he had contacted the Jones family and assured them of the university’s full assistance. He also noted that further discussions with the community about a commemoration of her life are underway.

Robbins mentioned that the Tucson Police Department is leading the investigation with assistance from the University of Arizona Police Department. He explained that the incident happened outside the campus where university students were involved. However, the university will only share information confirmed by law enforcement that does not jeopardize the investigation.

Roberts expressed deep sadness at the loss of a young life, especially one so young, taken from loved ones and friends too soon. He encouraged anyone struggling with this heart-breaking news, whether they knew Erin or not, to use support services available on campus.

Police said there is limited information available at this time and they are appealing to anyone with information. contact either 9-1-1 or 88-CRIME.
