Shahzaib Rindh defeated Rana Singh at the Karate Combat
India and Pakistan rarely meet in the sporting arena, but when they do, the rivalry between the two is fierce.
Such was the case on Saturday at the Karate Combat when India’s Rana Singh faced off against Pakistan’s Shahzaib Rindh. The high-octane clash saw Rindh edge out Singh with a 2-1 victory.

The decisive third round was needed to settle the match after Pakistan’s Rizwan Ali and India’s Himanshu Kaushik had each secured a win in the previous rounds.
Rather than the game itself, Shahzaib’s action stirred significant discussion on social media. The Pakistani athlete grabbed attention by proudly holding aloft both his nation’s flag and that of India.

Even the match presenter felt compelled to inquire about the motive behind his gesture. When asked, Shahzaib elaborated, stating, “This gesture symbolizes a pursuit of peace.
“We aren’t adversaries; we stand united. Together, there’s nothing we can’t achieve. This is about fostering friendship and strengthening ties between Pakistan and India.”
He further added to his statement, “And, I want to thank Salman Khan for coming here. He’s my superstar. I’ve been watching your movies since childhood. It’s been a pleasure to fight in front of you. Thank you.”

Following the game, Shahzaib met with Bollywood star Salman Khan, who praised the athlete for his outstanding performances. Shahzaib’s performance, along with his interaction with the famous actor, quickly became a popular topic among fans from both sides of the border.
About Shahzaib Rindh
Three-time Pakistan National Wushu Champion Shahzaib Rindh hails from Quetta, a city close to Pakistan’s border with Afghanistan.
As a child, he tended to get into trouble, frequently engaging in fights.
To help him find discipline, his parents enrolled him in a wushu sanda club when he was at the tender age of nine. Rindh stands 5’10” (179 cm) tall and weighs 154.98 lbs (70.3 kg).
His decision proved to be a turning point for Rindh, who embraced the training and quickly set his sights on a career in professional martial arts.
Throughout his journey, he has participated in various combat sports, achieving success not only in Wushu Sanda, where he has amassed over 60 victories but also in boxing and kickboxing.

Now competing on the international stage with ONE Championship, Rindh’s goals are clear that is to represent Pakistan with pride and to secure titles in two different divisions within the One Super Series.
