On 2nd April, a tragic event traumatized the whole Upper East Side area of New York City, leaving everyone in shock. Sophia d’Antoine, a cybersecurity researcher and the creator of “Margin Research,” was hospitalized in a severe condition after involving in a fatal vehicle accident.

That day, she was crossing York Avenue at East 87th Street at around 9:30 p.m. Soon, she was hit by a speeding SUV. Unfortunately, after 3 days of survival, on 5th April, she succumbed to her injuries and left this world at the age of 30.
Despite the 100% efforts of the medical staff at Weill Cornell Medical Center, where Sophia d’Antoine was sent following the tragedy, Antoine cannot be saved.
Her sudden death has left her friends, coworkers, and acquaintances suffering and grieving. Needless to say, the news has sent shockwaves through the town. It’s because the 72-year-old driver of the SUV that caused the collision left the scene.
In addition to taking d’Antoine’s life, the crash also injured a 62-year-old cab driver, who is fortunately still alive and well after obtaining medical attention.

Who was Sophia d’Antoine?
Sophia d’Antoine was a cybersecurity expert. She has been in the news because she died after succumbing to her injuries which she sustained in a fatal vehicle collision on 2nd April.
Her residence was on East 87th, which was around 0.5 blocks away from the collision site. D’Antoine attended the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute to study computer science and electrical engineering from 2011 to 2015, according to her LinkedIn page.
At the time of her death, she was just 30 years old.
Her career
Sophia d’Antoine’s business pursuits demonstrated her love for her work, as seen by her status as a “Hacker in Residence” on a cyber security event website.
In 2018, she established Margin Research, a small research company focused on tackling new cybersecurity issues. The startup had an amazing clientele that included charitable organizations, Fortune 500 firms, and DARPA, among other important institutions.
Prior to launching Margin Research, she worked as a Security Engineer at Cisco and Tumblr, and later as a Senior Security Researcher with Trail of Bits.
