Popular internet personalities Anjali Chakra and Sufi Malik recently announced their break up on their respective Instagram profiles on Sunday. While announcing their decision, Sufi revealed that she had cheated on Chakra just a few weeks before their planned wedding. She expressed her deep regret while also asking for forgiveness. Sufi stated:
Hey everyone, there has been a major turn of events in my relationship with Anjali. I made an unrecognizable mistake of betrayal by cheating on her a few weeks before our wedding. I’ve hurt her tremendously, beyond my own understanding. I’m owning up to my mistake and will continue to do so. I understand the gravity of the situation and can only ask relentlessly for forgiveness, from Anjali and Allah.”
She also shared about how she has hurt the people she loves the most, including her family, friends, and community. Sufi thanked everyone who supported her all these years while asking for privacy and respect during this difficult time. Following her confession, Malik received a wave of criticism as well as support on social media. Meanwhile, Chakra also released her own statement, sharing:
Sufi & I have been blessed to spend the last 5+ years together in a loving and beautiful partnership that we have been so honored to share with all of you. Since the beginning, your outpouring of love and support has played such a special part in our journey and we will continue to carry that love with us moving forward.”
She further announced that they have decided to call off their wedding and end their relationship due to Sufi’s infidelity. She ended the statement by asking everyone to respect their difficult decision and not show any negativity towards Sufi.

Anjali and Sufi initially connected around seven years ago after following each other’s Tumblr blogs. The pair eventually got closer and met up in New York in 2018. Since then, the pair has started dating and got engaged around September in 2022. Interestingly, the queer couple are an interfaith couple. While Malik is Muslim-Pakistani, Chakra is Hindu-Indian.
Anjali is aged 28 and was born in the US. She is a fashion and lifestyle influencer who is known for sharing lifestyle and modeling photos and graduated from the University of Southern California. She worked in healthcare before founding an event and wedding planning company called Behl Events.
