BharatPe Founder Ashneer Grover and his wife Madhuri Grover had sent a legal notice to Uday Kotak of Kotak Mahindra Bank back in 2021 after not getting share allocation
Although Ashneer Grover went onto claim that an audio of him going viral on social media platforms, one said to be of him abusing a Kotak Mahindra Bank employee was fake, people are yet to believe that is the case.

Its down to Ashneer’s decadent personality, one which has persistently come to the fore ever since BharatPe has been founded. From ex-employees hitting out at the company for the way it treats people to Grover’s perplexing behavior towards contestants on Shark Tank India, the fintech founder has found little love.

And any affinity he held has further dwindled after old reports of him and his wife sending a legal notice to Uday Kotak back in 2021 have resurfaced. The news has come to the fore after the alleged audio of him spread like wildfire, one where it was said the BharatPe bigwig was livid after not being allotted shares of Nykaa’s IPO.
Ashneer Grover and his wife Madhuri had sent a legal notice to Kotak Mahindra Bank’s MD and CEO, Uday and his senior management on October 30, 2021, one accusing the bank of failing to secure financing and allocation of shares in the IPO launched by beauty company Nykaa. The notice went onto seek damages for the gains Grover and his wife would have made after subscribing to shares worth Rs 500 crore in the company besides Rs 1 lakh towards the cost of the legal notice.
“Kotakโs refusal to provide IPO financing to our clients for the Nykaa IPO constitutes a blatant violation of its legal obligations owed to our clients as their wealth managers. It is also contrary to the repeated representations made to our clients regarding Kotakโs ability to provide IPO financing for the Nykaa IPO (including on the day on which the IPO opened to the public for subscription),” the notice read.
The notice also mentions the name of Rohit Mohan who was also mentioned in the audio clip that went viral.
