Abhishek, a resident of Bhagalpur, Bihar, spent the last year in Kota getting ready for the JEE. He took his own life on Friday by eating celphos poison while residing in a paid guest room.
Sixth death in a year!
On Friday, a JEE candidate in Kota, Rajasthan, committed suicide by poisoning themselves in a rented room. The deceased has been identified as Bhagalpur, Bihar, inhabitant 16 year old Abhishek Singh. Since last year, he has been studying in Kota for the JEE.
Abhishek Singh, a 16-year-old Bihar resident and Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Main candidate, committed suicide in Kota. There have been six student suicide fatalities in Kota so far this year. There was a suicide note in his room. The suicide letter says, “Papa, I can’t handle it. I will not be able to pass JEE. I don’t dare to tell you. I quit.” The student was last seen on Thursday night.
DSP Dharamveer Singh stated that the student had been staying in a paying guest house in Kota’s Vigyan Nagar locality for the previous month. Singh continued, “The investigation has been started, and his family members have been notified.” Additionally, Abhishek had missed two exams that were planned at his coaching on January 29 and February 19, according to police officials.
Earlier, another JEE aspirant girl committed suicide
A similar case happened in Kota, Rajasthan, earlier in January, when a fellow JEE prep student took his own life. The eighteen-year-old girl from Borkheda, Kota, wrote in her suicide note, “Mummy Papa, I can’t do JEE. So I suicide. I am a loser. I worst daughter. Sorry, Mummy, Papa. This is the last option I have.”
The teenager was discovered hanging at her home. According to media accounts, she was left in an extremely stressful situation despite having studied for almost seven hours every day. The unfortunate incident occurred late on January 23 at the Jawahar Nagar police station.
