William Peter O’Rourke is a medium-fast bowler with a right arm who was born on August 6, 2001, in Kingston upon Thames, London, England. He is an English-born New Zealand cricketer. He was a student at the Canterbury University.

O’Rourke’s time with the New Zealand Under-19 team put him on Canterbury’s radar from the start, but he really took off in the local white-ball competitions in 2022โ2023.
In domestic cricket, he plays for the Canterbury squad. He was a player for the national under-19 cricket team of New Zealand in the past as well.
He and his family relocated to Auckland, New Zealand when he was five years old. He and his brother took up cricket at a very young age. 2019 saw him relocate to Canterbury for club cricket.
He was included in the New Zealand under-19 cricket team’s roster for the 2020 Under-19 Cricket World Cup in December 2019. As part of the tour matches against Pakistan Shaheens in January 2021, he also participated in two twenty-over matches for New Zealand XI as an early career.
He made his List A debut in 2021โ2022 Ford Trophy for Canterbury on January 3, 2022, against Otago. On January 7, 2022, he played his first Twenty20 match for Canterbury Kings against Auckland in the 2021โ2022 Men’s Super Smash.
