Approved by the England and Wales Cricket Board, the tournament will showcase retired or non-contracted cricketers from various corners of the globe, mirroring the successful model of the Legends League Cricket held in Oman and Qatar.

Participants Teams

While team names are yet to be finalized, it is anticipated that six teams representing countries like India, Pakistan, England, Australia, South Africa, and West Indies will participate in the tournament.

The competition is slated to follow a round-robin format, with each team engaging in five games. The top four teams will proceed to the semifinals, with the winners advancing to the grand final. All matches are scheduled to take place at Edgbaston. The full schedule hasn’t been revealed yet.

Unlike some former cricketers who have participated in franchise leagues for retired players, Yuvraj Singh has not been involved in such endeavors. However, he did take part in the โ€˜One World One Family Cupโ€™ held in Bengaluru last month, alongside legendary Sachin Tendulkar.

Suresh Raina, who shared the field with Yuvraj during their time playing for India, has been recently seen in action at the Legends League Cricket, alongside his commentary duties for India matches.

Meanwhile, former England captain Kevin Pietersen is currently in India for the India vs. England Test series and is contributing as part of the commentary panel.

Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi has participated in a few friendly matches in his homeland but has not been involved in any franchise-based T20 leagues for retired players.
