2023 Khelo India Youth Games latest results, schedule, date, venue, medal winners

Rajasthan experienced a triumphant day at the 2023 Khelo India Youth Games in Chennai, clinching two gold medals in the cycling competition. Kheta Ram Chinga and Vimla Machra, the cyclists, secured the top spots in the boys’ individual pursuit and girls’ sprint events, respectively. This success elevated Rajasthan to the eighth position in the medal standings during the 6th Khelo India Youth Games on Tuesday.

Chinga showcased exceptional dominance in the competition, finishing the race in 3:50.494s, well ahead of Prahalad Kumar from Bihar (3:51.953). Aashirwad Saxena from Telangana secured the bronze medal with a time of 3:47.502. Later in the day, Machra added another gold to the state’s overall tally by emerging victorious in the sprint event, crossing the finish line in 0:14.099. J Srimathi from Tamil Nadu (0:14.271) and Heisnam Chanu from Manipur (0:14.267) secured the silver and bronze medals, respectively.

A total of 933 medals, including 278 gold, 278 silver, and 377 bronze, are available across 26 sports at KIYG 2024 Tamil Nadu. Hosts Tamil Nadu have the largest contingent, boasting 559 athletes, while three-time champions Maharashtra have fielded 415 athletes. Haryana, a two-time champion, has 491 athletes participating in the competition. In the previous edition of KIYG held in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra emerged as the champions.
