Cricket South Africa verified Moore’s addition in a statement that said:

Western Province batter Edward Moore has been added to the Proteas Test squad for the two-match series against New Zealand.”

Moore would have thought himself unlucky to be selected for the New Zealand Tests against an inexperienced squad, having amassed 17 centuries and 42 fifties in his illustrious career. Nevertheless, he managed to make the squad. As for the Proteas, Moore will probably start the inning.
