The team decided to switch up the leadership because they wanted to improve their on-track performances and produce more consistent outcomes. Technically speaking, though, Steiner’s exit was not a dismissal because team owner Gene Haas chose not to extend his contract once it expired.
Haas underlined the necessity of development, saying,
Moving forward, it was clear we needed to improve our on-track performances.
He added,
We have had successes, but we need to be consistent in delivering results that help us reach our wider goals as an organization.
