As per the latest updates, Magnus Carlsen leads the 2023 World Rapid Chess Championship with 6.5 points from eight rounds. Simultaneously, Vladimir Fedoseev holds the second position, having earned the same number of points by securing back-to-back wins on Wednesday. Occupying the third spot with the same point tally is Yu Yangyi. Given this scenario, it is reasonable to anticipate a closely contested title race.
On the other hand, Vidit Gujrathi is in sixth place with 6 points from 8 games and Arjun Erigaisi has dropped to 12th place after his winless run on Wednesday. In the women’s category, Chinese GM Zhu Jiner, Anastasia Bodnaruk, and Koneru Humpy are leading the title race with 6 points after seven rounds.
