Reportedly, 72-year-old Khalistani separatist leader Lakhbir Singh Rode of the International Sikh Youth Federation and the Khalistan Liberation Force (KLF) has died in Pakistan, according to his brother Jasbir Singh Rode.

From a family steeped in Khalistani history, Rode was the nephew of the late terrorist Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale, who was killed in Operation Blue Star, which was led by former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, inside the Golden Temple in Amritsar.
After being labeled a terrorist by the Indian government under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, Lakhbir Singh Rode first sought asylum in Dubai and then moved to Pakistan, where he spent a considerable amount of time running the KLF, an illegal group. It became apparent that he was operating mostly out of Lahore.

Who is Lakhbir Singh Rode?
Lakhbir Singh Rode is a notorious Khalistani terrorist. He has been in the news because he reportedly died in Pakistan due to a sudden heart attack.
He was born on 1 January 1950, in Lahore, Pakistan. 72 year old Rode was prominently involved in coordinating disruptive actions along the India-Nepal border via the Khalistan Zindabad Force cell, an illegal organization in India.
Lakhbir Singh Rode freely acknowledged working several times as a collaborator with the Pakistani government, particularly on strike plans directed at India. He was discovered to be in possession of 20 kg of RDX upon his detention; this drug was purportedly given to him by a councilor at the Pakistani Embassy located in Kathmandu.
Although Lakhbir Singh was implicated as the mastermind behind the Air India 182 bombing in a confession by militant Talwinder Singh Parmar to Punjab police, this assertion remains unverified.
According to the Indian government’s dossier on Lakhbir Singh Rode, he crossed the border to smuggle weapons and explosives into Punjab to hit VVIPs throughout the country.
He also has one son named Bhaggu Brar, who lives in Canada but the name of his wife isn’t known. His son is also accused of being involved in terrorist activities in Punjab, and he went to Pakistan often to help his father, bringing money and weapons. Additionally, Bhaggu is charged with advocating for anti-Indian objectives in Canada.
