Watch “Sar tan se juda,” NIT Srinagar students raise slogans asking to beheadstudent Prathmesh for post on Prophet Muhammad, video goes viral

Not surprisingly, the Islamists used their favourite phrase, “Sar Tan Se Juda,” which calls for the execution of anybody they accuse of being a blasphemer, against the Hindu NIT Srinagar student Prathmesh for having the audacity to post an anti-Prophet Muhammad video

What has been the story?

A Hindu student at Srinagar National Institute of Technology (NIT) was arrested on Tuesday, November 28, on suspicion of blasphemy after he shared a video featuring the son of the former leader of Hamas criticizing the Prophet Muhammad. On his Instagram feed, the accused NIT student Prathmesh posted a video of Mosab Hassan Yousef criticizing Islam and the Prophet Muhammad. The video has already gone viral.

After a large-scale demonstration and chanting broke out over the aforementioned video at the NIT campus on Tuesday, an FIR was filed against the accused Hindu student. The accused did not make the video; rather, he posted it after having it altered by a YouTuber. Despite this, the Muslim students at NIT Srinagar sought his arrest, accusing him of “blasphemy.”

The student who was scheduled for allegedly offending religious feelings has reportedly been rusticated from the college and is not allowed to take the semester examinations. According to the news outlet IANS, the accused student was placed on leave by the school administration after the event.

Official statement

IGP Kashmir VK Birdi provided facts regarding the situation, stating that the police have taken appropriate legal action and have started an inquiry after learning of the occurrence and getting a formal letter from the NIT campus registrar requesting legal action.

According to the police, they learned that some students were protesting at the NIT campus (in Srinagar) that evening at around 4:30. Following a preliminary inquiry, it was discovered that a student had shared some footage on social media. IGP Birdi stated that the student had taken it from YouTube and that it wasn’t his own post.

Islamists amass a Bhagwa conspiracy hypothesis of love trap

Notably, several people on social media have asserted that the accused student is dating a Muslim female from the area. The Hindu youth is accused by some Islamists on social media of enticing the lady into his Bhagwa love trap.

It is important to remember that the Bhagwa love trap is a conspiracy theory propagated by Islamists and several Muslim organizations. Islamists assert that Muslim women are being tricked by Hindu men. A bunch of Islamists had attacked and pursued Hindu men who were travelling with their Muslim female acquaintances on multiple occasions.

Several Islamist X users disclosed the personal information, together with images of the alleged Hindu youth and the female he is allegedly dating, on the platform. These X users also have access to her name and other personal information. In addition, the Islamists are mistreating the young Hindu man for being a Bihari, an outsider.

The young Hindu man has been charged with blasphemy for simply posting an old video of someone else criticizing Islam. The Hindu youth should be hanged for the sake of an Instagram tale, according to the “#HangblasphmerPrathmeshNIT” trend started by Islamists on X. Unsurprisingly, as this X post makes clear, Islamists have also used the phrase “Sar Tan Se Juda” to demand the execution of anyone they believe has “insulted” Prophet Muhammad.

Prathamesh and his family’s safety has come under fire amid threats, slurs, and online harassment. In addition, the ongoing hostilities make worries about non-local visitors’ safety in Kashmir more pressing.
