Twinkling Watermelon recently released its last episode with its ending now explained
Now viewers are waiting for season 2.
Twinkling Watermelon put out episode 16, and we finally found out if Eun-gyeol managed to change his family’s future. Choi Hyun-wook was the 18-year-old Ha Yi-chan, and Choi Won-young played the same character in his mid-30s. Know about season 2.

It is unlikely that Twinkling Watermelon will be revived for season 2 because the most recent episode gave a flawless ending. The popular title may be renewed, but the broadcasting channel tvN has not yet made an official announcement on the matter.
Fans of K-drama Twinkling Watermelon appreciated Twinkling Watermelon because it showed them how life can be better if one is surrounded by the right people and gave them insight into sign language, friendship, dreams, family, and love.
Twinkling Watermelon plot and ending
Shin Eun-soo acted as Cheong-ah, and Seo Young-hee played her as an adult.: In Twinkling Watermelon, Ryeon Un played 18-year-old Han Eun-gyeol, who travels back to 1995 to meet his parents Ha Yi-chan and Cheong-ah.
He encounters Choi Se-kyung and together they try to change the future for Eun-gyeol’s deaf parents. As per IMDb, the show is about a boy leading a dual life as a model student and band member. He experiences a time slip, meeting his 18-year-old father, and they form friendships in that era.
In the last episode of Twinkling Watermelon, Cheong-ah’s stepbrother, Yoon Joo-yeob, purposefully hits Eun-gyeol with his car. But surprisingly, Yi-chan shows up and saves Eun-gyeol. Choi Se-kyung sees this, memorizes the car’s plate number, and watches Eun-gyeol cry while holding the injured Yi-chan. They rush Yi-chan to the hospital.
In the hospital, Yi-chan dreams about his goals, like going to college, starting a brand, winning music contests, and fulfilling his grandmother’s wish for him to wear the graduation cap. Cheong-ah’s stepbrother, Yoon Joo-yeob, purposefully hits Eun-gyeol with his car.
But unexpectedly, Yi-chan shows up and saves Eun-gyeol. Choi Se-kyung sees it, remembers the car’s plate number as Joo-yeob runs away. She watches Eun-gyeol cry, holding the injured Yi-chan, and they quickly take him to the hospital. In the hospital, Yi-chan dreams about goals like going to college, starting a brand, winning music contests, and fulfilling his grandmother’s wish for him to wear the graduation cap.
When Yi-chan wakes up, he faces a tough truth. Eun-gyeol tries to talk to him, but Yi-chan can’t hear, showing he’s now deaf, and his son couldn’t alter his destiny. Overwhelmed with emotions, Yi-chan cries a lot. His grandmother arrives at the hospital, tearfully asking if he can hear her. Since he can’t, Yi-chan promises to be good-hearted and become a better person. They hug each other tightly.
Se-kyung talks to the upset Eun-gyeol, saying they need to return to 2023. Two full moons will appear that day, and missing it means being stuck in 1995 forever. She explains his parents are in the future, and by preventing her thoughts of suicide and saving his mother, changes must happen in the future of Twinkling Watermelon.
The scene shifts to Cheong-ah’s father, Yoon Gun-hyeong, trying to use sign language to talk to her. Finally, he sees her smile, and he invites her on a trip abroad. She happily agrees.
Following that, in Twinkling Watermelon, Cheong-ah’s father arranges for her admission abroad and looks into hospital and education fees for Yi-chan. The not-so-nice lady, Im Ji-mi, is told not to leave South Korea because of tax issues, and Joo-yeob faces consequences for his actions.
Eun-gyeol returns to 2023 and finds a much better life. His parents, Yi-chan, Cheong-ah, and his brother Eun-ho are now living luxuriously. Surprisingly, he’s a member of the new K-pop group SPINE9 and signed under MJ Entertainment.
