His real name is Akinwale Oluwafolajimi Oluwatope Arobieke. He was born on 15 July 1961 in Crumpsall, Lancashire, England.

While the identity of his father is unclear, his mother was a secretarial student of Nigerian heritage. Purple Aki entered foster care when he was six months old and spent some time at a Barnardo’s home in Llandudno. Throughout his adult life, he worked as a cleaner in the Mersey Tunnels and a messenger for the Liverpool City Council, among other positions.

His height is 6 feet 7 inches, or 2.00 meters, and his weight is 310 lbs, or 140 kg. Currently, he is 62 years old.
