Her full name is Yashica Dutt Nidaniya. She was born on 5 February 1986 in Ajmer, Rajasthan, India. Her family belongs to the Valmiki (Dalit) caste.

Yashica’s mother is Shashi and being a Dalit, Yashica had a hard time living in society during her childhood. Her mother taught her to hide her caste from people in order to become a part of non-Dalit society.

After completing her schooling at a local school in Ajmer, Yashica Dutt earned a B.Sc. from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi. Later, she pursued a Master’s degree in Arts and Culture Journalism from Columbia University.

She is currently 37 years old.
