Former Liverpool striker Roberto Firmino, who recently signed with Al Ahli, made a great debut for his new team by scoring three goals in his first league game. He has consequently jumped out to an early lead on the top scorers category.
However, the season has only just begun, therefore a number of players, including last year’s champion Abderrazak Hamdallah, his Al Ittihad teammate Karim Benzema, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic of Al Hilal, and Cristiano Ronaldo and Talisca of Al Nassr, will challenge Firmino.

Saudi Pro League Top Scorers table 2022-2023
The Moroccan forward for Al Ittihad, Abderrazak Hamdallah, scored 21 of the 60 goals his team scored on the way to winning the Saudi Pro League championship in 2022–23. He has three times won the Golden Boot in the previous five seasons.
Cristiano Ronaldo only featured in 16 games after joining Al Nassr in the middle of the season, but he still managed to finish in fifth position with 14 goals, while Hamdallah caused damage over the course of 26 games.

Former Saudi Arabian international Nasser Al-Shamrani dominated the league’s early years, capturing five Golden Boot trophies in seven seasons from 2007 to 2014. Prior to Hamdallah setting a new league record of 34 goals in 2018–19, the bar had already been raised by Syrian star Omar Al Somah, who from 2014 to 2017 won three consecutive Golden Boot awards.
