Following the misfortunes of Miyo Saimori, a girl born into a loveless marriage, My Happy Marriage is reminiscent of Cinderella. After her mother passed away, her father married again and brought home his new daughter. When she reached marriageable age, her marriage was arranged with Kiyoka Kudou, a notoriously cruel army officer. Miyo thought her life would get worse as a result of the rumors, but instead, things improved.

The Twitter account @MangaMoguraRE announced that after the release of My Happy Marriage Volume 7, it quickly rose to the top of the Weekly Oricon Light Novel charts. It sold over 68,329 copies, which was impressive considering the second-best selling light book at the time only sold around 14,000. Many viewers felt relief that the show was gaining some well-deserved attention. Despite the light novel’s early promise, it initially received little attention. Nonetheless, the series was finally getting some attention after the release of the manga and the anime, and fans were buying and reading the light novels.
This made the fans happy since it meant that more people were reading the wonderful story that Agitogi and Tsukioka were delivering them. Some viewers found parallels between the tale and the success of the anime and Horimiya, another romance series that gained a following after the premiere of the anime. As a result, many people thought Agitogi and Tsukioka’s series was excellent, if not the best, romantic show on television in recent memory.

Friday, March 15, 2024 is the official release date for My Happy Marriage Volume 8. The eighth book will have a limited edition set, just like the previous ones. This time around, however, instead of a poster, readers will receive a Blu-ray Disc featuring an original anime adaptation of the light book. In March of 2024, you will receive both the volume and the disc. The title of the original Japanese animation is “The Shape of Happiness,” or Shiawase no Katachi.
Along with the light book volume, there will also be an original video animation based on the My Happy Marriage anime series. However, there is a cutoff time for ordering the limited edition set. The special package will be available for purchase until December 11th, 2023. Fans of the series can pre-order the collector’s editions now at any bookstore.
The standard version will also be available on March 15, 2024, but you can’t pre-order it. Therefore, followers will have to buy it when it is available. Since the release date is still over half a year away, however, Kadokawa has indicated that the bundle itself or the release date may undergo revisions.
