Who is Manoj Tiwary?

Manoj Tiwary is a well-known former Indian cricketer and politician. He has been in the news because he recently announced his retirement from all formats of cricket.

He was born on 14 November 1985 in Howrah, West Bengal, India. His father’s name is Shyam Shankar Tiwary, and his mother’s name is Bina Tiwary. He also has a brother named Rajkumar Tiwary.

Manoj Tiwary is married, and his wife’s name is Sushmita Roy.

He is currently 37 years old and has a net worth of Rs.20 crore.

His last match was Ranji Trophy final loss to Saurashtra this year, in which he top-scored for Bengal in the second innings and was also the skipper of the Bengal side in the last Ranji campaign.

His career

In the 2007-2008 Commonwealth Bank Series, Manoj Tiwary made his debut against Australia and scored two runs. He took Yuvraj Singh’s position during the 2011 West Indies tour, participating in ODIs and earning a berth against England.

His most memorable performance came in India’s 34-run victory against the West Indies in Chennai, when he scored an unbeaten 104 while suffering from cramps. He spent some time on the sidelines after that, but against Sri Lanka, he came back as an all-rounder, taking 4/61 and scoring 21 runs.

In domestic cricket, Manoj Tiwary excelled for Bengal in the Vijay Hazare Trophy and Ranji Trophy, hitting a fifth double-century and an unbeaten triple-century. In the IPL, Tiwary switched teams, contributing to the Kolkata Knight Riders’ 2012 victory and later representing the Rising Pune Supergiants and Kings XI Punjab.
