Every season of the PKL begins with an auction. To balance their squads, each team purchases the best players available based on their analyses. The 12 Vivo Pro Kabaddi teams have kept these players, who will be crucial to their rosters in the forthcoming season.
(Pro Kabaddi League) PKL 2023 season 10 auction teams retained and released players full list
Prior to the Vivo Pro Kabaddi Season 10 player auction in 2023, all 12 teams retained a total of 111 players. The 111 retained players are made up of 38 existing new young players, 13 retained young players, and 19 elite retained players. Franchisees have also proposed 41 New Young Players for the PKL 2023 Auction.
The Patna Pirates, who have won the league three times, have the most Elite Retained Players (4), and their all-arounder Mohammadreza Shadloui Chiyaneh is the only overseas player who has been retained by any PKL team heading into PKL Season 10 in 2023.
Every PKL season, all franchisees are only permitted to retain a maximum of 6 players in the Elite Retained Players category and a maximum of 4 New Young Players (NYPs) under certain restrictions.
On August 5 and 6, there will be a two-day auction in Mumbai when all players who are not kept will be sold. The non-retained players from the Domestic, Overseas, and New Young Players (NYPs) groupings will be split into four categories for this year’s auction: A, B, C, and D. Within these categories, the players are further categorised into “All-Rounders,” “Defenders,” and “Raiders.”
The base prices for each of the categories are:
- Category A – INR 30 Lakhs
- Category B – INR 20 Lakhs
- Category C – INR 10 Lakhs
- Category D – INR 6 Lakhs
For the PKL auction Season 10 each franchisee will have access to a total salary purse of INR 4.4 Crores for their squad. The player pool for the Vivo PKL Season 10 has been increased to 500+, and it now includes 24 players from the top 2 teams in the Khelo India University Games in Bangalore in 2021.
From August 5 to 6, Mumbai hosted the Vivo Pro Kabaddi Season 10 Players Auction 2023. The 12 teams will compete to sign the total of 450 players (both domestic and foreign) up for the season.
