2023 Canada Open schedule, date, venue, fixtures, & first-round draw
On Tuesday, Indian ace PV Sindhu will face-off against Canadian shuttler Talia Ng at the 2023 Canada Open and will be eager to start her campaign on high-note with a resounding victory. Meanwhile, Tasnim Mir will begin her journey with a first-round tie against Nguyen Thuy Linh and if she manages to emerge victorious, she might have to clash against fifth-seed Michelle Li on Thursday. It is confirmed that all the matches from this prestigious event will be hosted at the Markin-MacPhail Centre in Calgary.
In the men’s singles category, top-seed Viktor Axelsen has decided to withdraw and during his absence, in-form Thai shuttler Kunlavut Vitidsarn will be the overwhelming favorite to clinch the title. According to the confirmed schedule till now, Lakshya Sen is the only confirmed Indian shuttler and will face an uphill task of overcoming Vitidsarn in the opening round. Meanwhile, Indian women’s doubles pair Rutaparna & Swetaparna will play against Cheung & Chow knowing a victory can seal their berth in the second-round, where they will face-off against top-seed Japanese duo Nami & Chiharu.

2023 Canada Open: prize money distribution
Each singles champion at the Singapore Open will get $31,500 from the $420,000 total prize pool because it is a BWF Super 500 competition. According to reports, each loser from the singles category semi-final would only receive $6,090, while both singles category runner-up shuttlers will receive $15,960. It is confirmed that all the first-round losers from this competition will return home with zero prize money.
