Ansu Fati has sustained a hamstring injury during Barcelona’s game against Celta Vigo on Saturday.

He was injured on the same day as Xavi was appointed as the head coach of Barca. Fati’s injury comes as a huge blow to the Spanish giants who have already been struggling to pull their team together and win games under Ronald Koeman, who was sacked very recently.
The 19-year old will not be a part of Spain’s squad for the upcoming World Cup Qualifiers which are scheduled to start from November 11th. He has now been replaced by Raul de Tomas, who plays as a striker for Espanyol. It has hardly been 2 months since Fati returned from a serious knee injury which had forced him out of action for 10 months.
Since his recovery, Fati has been a crucial force behind Barcelona’s attack, having scored four goals in eight appearances. With Aguero, Dembele, Brathwaite out and now Fati getting injured, the Catalans are in for a tough time. As for Fati’s return date, a statement by Barcelona said that the 19-year old has an injury to the femoral biceps in his left thigh, and that he will be out of any football action until he recovers. No specific return date has been mentioned but it is assumed that Fati will be out for at least 3-4 weeks.
